The Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta (www.pettherapysociety.com) brings the joy and healing power of animals to those in need. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Directors and play a key role in ensuring our financial stability and sustainability. As a vital member of our team, you will: Oversee day-to-day finances: Manage bank accounts, track income and expenses, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Maintain financial health: Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, analyze financial data, and contribute to budgeting processes. Ensure compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of the annual charity return to the CRA and adhere to all relevant financial regulations. Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with our accounting service provider, board members, and staff to ensure smooth financial operations. Contribute to organizational growth: Assist with grant applications, fundraising initiatives, and financial planning for the future. Qualifications: Proven experience in accounting or financial management. Strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Passion for our mission and commitment to animal welfare.
