The 2017/18 world champions will be crowned at a spectacular finale in the capital of Alberta
The final showdown of the Ice Cross Downhill World Championship will make its highly anticipated return to Edmonton this March 09 - 10.
Ice Cross Downhill has had a long-standing relationship with the city of Edmonton. From Qualifier events held at local ice rinks in earlier seasons through to its first-ever season finale race hosted in 2015, which brought out 70,000 roaring fans, the largest crowd ever to attend a single-day public sporting event in downtown Edmonton.
2018's Edmonton track will aim to up the level from its first edition, and all track details will be released later this season. The city's 2015 track stretched an enormous 415-metres long, and was chock-full of features including a 45 metre vertical drop. One of the most unique tracks in the sport's history, it took almost a full month to build, and swerved through Edmonton's downtown core down to the banks of the frozen North Saskatchewan River.
