Director of Communications - Join the STEAMistic Communications Team!

We are looking for high-school and University students to join our team! The Director(s) of Communications will be responsible for managing a small team of volunteers (comprising project managers and general volunteers). Responsibilities include: - Attending weekly executive team meetings; - Chairing weekly meetings with project managers - communications and general volunteers; - Overseeing the creation of promotional materials for outreach purposes; - Managing STEAMistic social media pages; - Creating and distributing the STEAMistic monthly newsletter; - Managing the STEAMistic website and blog page; - Managing the subscriber list; and - Promoting STEAMistic initiatives across social media pages. This role is best suited for individuals looking to develop/improve marketing and graphic designing skills, gain leadership experience, and has a passion for promoting STEAM educational opportunities. Highly motivated, organized, and responsible individuals will be most successful in this position. Previous leadership experience/experience leading teams alongside graphic designing experience is an asset. ABOUT US STEAMistic is a youth-led initiative that aims to distribute STEAM-related educational materials & activities to youth from low SES backgrounds across Edmonton & Calgary. Our goal is to ignite curiosity among the youth, help them build innovation, leadership skills and critical thinking skills. OUR MISSION Provide accessible STEAM education & activities to young people across Edmonton; to encourage innovative, scientific imagination; and to foster an interest in STEAM among young people.

This opportunity will provide volunteers with the chance to work alongside like-minded individuals to deliver STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming to children and youth. Volunteers will gain graphic design/marketing experience, several opportunities to hone leadership skills and organizational skills.
