Director of Activity Design - Join the STEAMistic Activity Design & Research Team!

We are looking for high-school and University students to join our team! The Director of Activities & Research will manage a small team (comprising project managers and volunteers) and aid with researching Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) related activities that ideally would take 1-1.5 hours to complete for participants of the program. Responsibilities include: - Attending weekly executive meetings; - Chairing weekly meetings with project managers - activities & research; - Designing STEAM activities (that are aligned with the Alberta Science curriculum); and - Collaborating with the communications team to create STEAM-related YouTube videos. This role is best suited for individuals looking to develop/improve research and activity designing skills, gain leadership experience, and has a passion for promoting STEAM educational opportunities. Highly motivated, organized, and responsible individuals will be most successful in this position. Previous leadership experience/experience leading teams is an asset. ABOUT US STEAMistic is a youth-led initiative that aims to distribute STEAM-related educational materials & activities to youth from low SES backgrounds across Edmonton & Calgary. Our goal is to ignite curiosity among the youth, help them build innovation, leadership skills and critical thinking skills. OUR MISSION Provide accessible STEAM education & activities to young people across Edmonton; to encourage innovative, scientific imagination; and to foster an interest in STEAM among young people.

This opportunity will provide volunteers with the chance to work alongside like-minded individuals to deliver STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming to children and youth. Volunteers will gain experience designing STEAM workshops, several opportunities to hone leadership skills and organizational skills. At STEAMistic, all volunteers will receive a reference letter highlighting their contributions.
