Young Minds Academy Volunteer Executive

Young Minds Eye (YME) is a not-for-profit organization aiming to provide educational services to the underprivileged population. Our mission started with our student group Help Young Minds at the University of Alberta. We now focus on establishing our non-profit organization to serve more youths out there. At YME, we strive to work together as a team, support each other and push each of our programs forward in order to make a positive impact on our community.

Position entails: 
+ Conduct one-on-one check-in with tutor volunteers once per semester and pair the tutor with the tutee
+ admin work such as organizing tracker sheet, updating files, setting up meetings, sending out meeting minutes 
+ Coordinate/schedule team meetings with the tutor team once a month 
+ Coordinate communications between volunteers and change in the program
+ Provide backstage support for general volunteers when they are struggling/on leave (e.g. volunteer unable to come to shift) 
+ Navigate and deal with any challenge that might arise regarding the tutoring program 
+ Work along with Head Director to address any issue that arises and come up with a solution plan; address the problem on an individual case-to-case basis 
+ Approve volunteer hours of all tutor volunteers 
+ Recruit tutors 
+ Participate in YME executive team meeting
+ Assist with additional teamwork
+ Provide support during Young Minds Camp
