Arts & Crafts Volunteer🎨

Join us as an Arts & Crafts Volunteer and create joyful experiences for residents through creative activities. You'll work alongside the Recreation team to craft with residents, assist those needing support, and contribute ideas for engaging projects.

Responsibilities:
- Help bring residents to the activity and assist them during crafting or painting sessions.
-Help prepare supply lists and create idea boards with reference pictures for upcoming crafts.

Time Commitment:
Tuesdays from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
You can also volunteer from 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a full 2.75 hours.

Expectations of Volunteers:
-Reliability: Attend scheduled sessions consistently, arriving on time and fulfilling your responsibilities.
-Respect: Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' rights at all times.
-Attitude: Approach interactions with a non-judgmental and compassionate attitude.
-Feedback: Be open to feedback and demonstrate accountability in improving your role.

Qualifications:
Passion for Seniors: Enthusiasm for creating enjoyable experiences through arts and crafts.
Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively and engage positively with residents.
Empathy: Patience and understanding when interacting with seniors of varying abilities.
Creativity: Ability to generate and adapt crafts that are suitable and enjoyable for seniors.
Experience: Previous experience in painting, pottery, card crafting, or drawing with seniors is a plus but not required.

Requirements: A vulnerable sector check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination are mandatory.
