Position Summary:
Join our team as a Gardening Volunteer and help cultivate joy and well-being for seniors receiving supportive and memory care. This fulfilling role involves organizing and assisting with gardening activities that provide therapeutic benefits and a connection to nature. Your efforts will help create a serene and engaging environment for our residents.

Responsibilities:
Gardening Activities: Plan and lead gardening activities, including planting, watering, weeding, and maintaining garden beds.
Resident Engagement: Encourage residents to participate in gardening tasks, fostering a sense of accomplishment and connection to nature.
Educational Support: Share your knowledge about plants and gardening techniques, helping residents learn and engage with the gardening process.
Supportive Care: Adapt gardening activities to suit the cognitive abilities of residents with memory care needs, using nature to stimulate memory and emotional well-being.
Garden Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the overall health and appearance of the garden, ensuring it remains a beautiful and welcoming space.

Qualifications:
Passionate about gardening and working with seniors.
Knowledge of basic gardening techniques and plant care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience and empathy in interacting with residents of varying abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.
Previous experience in gardening, caregiving, or working with seniors is a plus, but not required.
A vulnerable sector check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination are mandatory.
