Position Summary:
Join our team as a Knitting Volunteer and share your passion for knitting, crocheting and sewing with seniors receiving supportive and memory care. This delightful role involves organizing and leading knitting sessions that provide a creative outlet, promote relaxation, and foster a sense of community among our residents. Your skills and enthusiasm will help create a warm and engaging environment.

Responsibilities:
Club Sessions: Visit or lead knitting, crocheting, or sewing activities, offering guidance and support to residents as they work on their projects.
Resident Engagement: Encourage participation and interaction among residents, fostering a sense of camaraderie and accomplishment.
Skill Development: Teach basic knitting techniques to beginners and assist more experienced knitters with advanced projects.
Supportive Care: Adapt knitting activities to suit the cognitive abilities of residents with memory care needs, using the craft to stimulate memory and emotional well-being.
Project Coordination: Help residents select and plan their knitting projects, offering ideas and inspiration.

Qualifications:
Passionate about knitting and working with seniors.
Proficient in knitting techniques and able to teach others.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience and empathy in interacting with residents of varying abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.
Previous experience in knitting, caregiving, or working with seniors is a plus, but not required.
A vulnerable sector check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination are mandatory.
