Meals on Wheels Driver/Runner (URGENT!)
URGENTLY LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS IN THIS ROLE! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Meals on Wheels driver/runner delivers nutritious meals to people living at home who are unable to prepare their own meals, and/or picks up meals from the providers and brings them to our distribution site in Georgetown/Acton. You can complete the route independently, or bring a friend and volunteer together! As a volunteer in this role, you will... - Pick up meals and route list from Links2Care office and deliver meals to local clients - Upon completion, return meal bags and route list to office - Physically carry meal delivery bags (not exceeding 30 lbs) - Be expected to use your own vehicle to complete routes - Be available to complete at least 1 route weekly - Build meaningful connections with clients and help support our local community! Please note that this volunteer opportunity is in-person, and the volunteer must be able to commute in the Halton Hills (Georgetown and Acton) Region Volunteers are expected to report any unusual condition or concern, maintain calmness in an emergency, and assist in a crisis as needed. Volunteers will follow Links2Care Code of Conduct, Client Confidentiality and Human Rights Act, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Certification or Education Required
Valid Ontario Drivers Licence
