Homework Club Study Mentor (Youth Volunteer)

Recruiting volunteers for the 2025-26 school year! Homework Club runs from October-April, each school year.

High school student volunteers will mentor an elementary school student once a week after school in a one-to-one relationship. Involves assisting a child in grades 3-8 with their homework, playing educational games, engaging in academic activities and developing organizational skills. Homework Club takes place at a number of specific elementary schools across the Halton region. 

We are currently enrolling high school aged volunteers for the upcoming 2025-26 school year, in Oakville.

Additional Details & Skills Required
Volunteers provide their own transportation to designated elementary schools in Oakville, Burlington and Milton.  
Volunteers choose the locations (from a list provided by BBBS) that are closest to their high school and/or home.
Certification or Education Required
75% (or higher) average in high school/in grade 8 (if you are entering grade 9).
Must be comfortable conversing in English and assisting with both math and language homework.
