Central Okanagan Food Bank
The Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) provides vital food assistance to individuals facing financial hardship, serving an average of 9,500 people each month, with 44% of those being children and 19% being seniors. As the second-largest food bank in British Columbia, COFB specializes in food storage, mobilization, and distribution, acting as a hub for the Interior Region and supporting 32 smaller food banks. The organization is committed to serving all individuals regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, ethnicity, language, disability, or health status. COFB has developed targeted programs to assist seniors, children, infants, pregnant mothers, and those with medically diagnosed dietary needs and restrictions. Their core mission is to create a healthy, hunger-free community, where the standard hamper program alleviates the immediate challenge of hunger, and targeted programs work towards improving the overall health of community members.
