Environmental Steward

An Environmental Steward is interested in getting close to the conservation work that affects positive environmental change and ensures a biodiverse environment. They may participate in activities such as removing weeds, surveying local plants and wildlife, or participating in specific strategic projects developed in collaboration with community groups throughout the year. Environmental Stewards believe that the wellness of nature starts close to home and they want to be involved in specific ecological projects and activities to keep parks beautiful for generations to come.
Certification or Education Required
Anyone with a love of nature and the outdoors is welcome to appy. If you have background knowledge in environmental studies, they can be an asset.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Being an Environmental Steward puts volunteers on the front lines of conservation, horticulture, maintenance, environmentalism and community enrichment. These are excellent resume building opportunities and a chance to learn more about the ecosystems of central Okanagan.
