Park Ambassador
BC
[map]
Ongoing
A Park Ambassador wants to connect with like-minded people, keep regional parks beautiful, stay active and interact with park visitors. They may already attend and enjoy park programming and feel excited to participate in the various programs parks services have to offer. They have a strong interest and/or knowledge of nature, biodiversity, education, working with different age groups and/or learning about the wildlife, plants and life cycles of the parks. They may be an avid hiker, biker, walker, or park user and feel a strong connection to the parks and the community they offer. As a Park Ambassador, one may participate in connecting visitors to nature, assisting on trail hikes, cleaning up parks and beaches and/or sharing educational resources about the wildlife in each park.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Park Ambassadors will gain resume building experience especially in fields related to environmental studies, social work and education. Volunteers will constantly be in nature where they'll meet new people and learn more of Central Okanagan Regional parks in their time with us. They will benefit from learning more about the area and gain new knowledge of what makes our Regional parks beautiful and versatile.
