Vice-Chair of PRISM Halton

PRISM Halton was founded in 2016 and creates social events for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the Halton region. We organised the first ever pride parade in Halton in 2023 which was incredibly successful and is now the cornerstone of pride in Halton. The Vice Chair plays a vital leadership role within PRISM Halton, supporting the Chairperson and the broader executive team to fulfill the organization’s mission. The Vice Chair helps coordinate initiatives, oversee operations, and serve as an ambassador for PRISM Halton’s values of inclusion, community, and celebration of diversity. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Governance: -Assist the Chair in strategic planning and decision-making for PRISM Halton’s activities and events. -Step in as Acting Chair during the Chairperson’s absence. -Promote inclusivity and representation within the leadership team and community initiatives. -Event Support and Oversight: -Collaborate in planning and executing monthly connection events and annual celebrations like Pride Halton. -Provide logistical and organizational support for events, ensuring alignment with the group’s vision and goals. -Coordinate with event teams, sponsors, and volunteers as needed. Community Engagement: -Build and nurture relationships with community stakeholders, including local organizations, municipalities, and sponsors. -Represent PRISM Halton at public events and meetings to advocate for LGBTQIA2S+ visibility and inclusivity. -Team Collaboration and Development: -Work with the executive team to develop and mentor members to maximize their contributions. -Help identify opportunities for member involvement and leadership development within PRISM Halton. Administrative Support: -Participate in monthly executive meetings and assist in preparing agendas and reports. -Ensure tasks and initiatives are followed through by appropriate team members.
