Objective of Position Working alongside the professional care team, YVI students provide companionship and support to enhance the quality of life for our children during their stay at The Darling Home for Kids. Responsibilities & Duties 🔹 Provide peer companionship and friendship to our children during their stay at The Darling Home for Kids 🔹 Connect with our children in the various activities they participate in at our Home 🔹 Enjoy outings and outdoor activities on our grounds 🔹 Accompany children into the Snoezelen room 🔹 Perform general home duties including; tidying and cleaning toys, organizing program materials and other responsibilities as needed to fully support the children and the functioning of the Home 🔹 Participate as a volunteer in all activities the children are participating in, aiding the children in participation 🔹 Involvement in planning recreational activities and crafts and observing therapy programs 🌟Youth Volunteer Initiative-Summer Program (YVI) 20 hours/week, Month of July and/or August Mon. – Fri. Application deadline: May 16, 2025 🌟Weekend Peer Program 4 hours/week, September – June Sat. or Sun. Application deadline: August 1, 2025
