Day Program for Older Adults (DPOA) Volunteer

2 hours / weekly
Minimum 6 month commitment
To provide Day Program for Older Adults program participants/clients with proper health monitoring and assist in activity programming in order to maintain the participants/clients’ functioning and quality of life.

*Greet participants/clients and assist them with coats and seating as needed.
*Serve refreshments as directed by staff. Assist with clients’ lunch as directed by staff.
*Clean tables and load dirty dishes into the dishwasher.
*Assist and participate in discussion groups and games/activities.
*Socialize and engage with participants/clients to promote a positive atmosphere.
*Assist with escorting clients as directed by staff.
*Assist with departure of participants/clients.

Shifts Available:
Monday - Friday 12:00pm-2:00pm
(1x shift per week)
Additional Details & Skills Required
Required training includes:
1.	General Volunteer Orientation, Queen’s Park Care Centre.
2.	Online Volunteer Training Curriculum.
3.	Program Orientation with Therapeutic Recreation staff.
4.	Any other training that is required.
