Volunteer Tour Guide

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to lead tour guides for visitors! 
Volunteering at the Fraser River Discovery Centre (FRDC) is educational, rewarding, and fun! 
Under the direction of the FRDC Public Engagement Manager, you will engage with learners of all ages and help inspire stewards of the river through quality tours.

Responsibilities:
•	Deliver consistent and quality tours through visitor engagement and help participants create special memories of the river.
•	Engage the participants with the history of the Fraser River.
•	Ensure that tour participants are guided in a safe and respectful manner.

Time Commitment:
•	Please commit to at least 6 months of volunteering at the FRDC.
•	Be available for an on-call schedule (tours are booked throughout the year).
•	Be available for at least one 1.5-hour volunteer shift per month (depending on tour bookings).

General Volunteer Requirements:
•	Must be 15 years of age or older.
•	A desire to work and interact with children and families.
•	Enjoy public speaking.
•	Interest in science communication and/or local history.
•	Must be able to participate in an in-person interview and orientation.
•	Must consent to a Criminal Record Check.
