Location: Recording will take place at YMCAs in the Greater Vancouver Area, so priority will be given to contributors located in this area. Terms: Monthly contract, ranging from 2 to 8 hours per month. There may be potential for additional work such as additional videos, webinars or interviews. Although we’re open to one-off projects, preference will be given to instructors who are interested in a long-term collaboration. Start date: As soon as possible End date: Monthly contract Compensation: You will be given all edited videos for use on your own website and/or social media so this role opportunity is particularly suitable for someone who wants to develop their online presence. We will also handle shooting and editing of content and can provide on camera training. Situation: YMCA at Home is a comprehensive online platform offered by YMCA BC that provides a diverse range of virtual services and resources to support individuals in achieving their health, fitness, and wellness goals from the comfort of their homes. The platform offers a variety of virtual fitness classes, wellness programs, educational content, and community engagement initiatives. Users can access a wide array of on-demand content, live streaming sessions, and interactive features to enhance their overall well-being. The YMCA at Home website aims to bring the mission and values of the YMCA to individuals across BC, fostering a sense of community and promoting a healthy lifestyle through convenient and accessible online services. Nature & Scope: We’re looking for contributors who can plan and deliver fitness or wellness content for our online platform Y@Home. This opportunity is ideal for someone who loves teaching and is comfortable in front of the camera. We will handle recording and editing of content so the contributors will be only required to plan the content and come for the recording session. We’re looking for instructors with expertise in the following areas: Pilates Dance-inspired workouts Low-impact cardio or strength exercises Strength training Boxercise Tai Chi Qigong Yoga Stretching Meditation, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques Successful candidates will be expected to plan and deliver a series of 3-5 videos once a month. Each video should be between 5 and 40 minutes long. The content will be agreed in advance with the Creative Specialist. There may be also additional opportunities possible such as producing additional videos, webinars, etc. Qualifications/Experience: Current nationally recognized relevant certification (personal training, yoga, nutrition, etc.) At least 1 year of previous personal training or group training experience Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in running online fitness/wellness content or being confident and engaging in front of a camera Passion, ambition, drive, and knowledge regarding the fitness industry Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding start date. 3 Professional Reference Checks to be completed. Application process: Please include in your cover letter the style of classes you’re interested in teaching and an idea for one series of 3-5 videos. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit a 30-60 second video demonstrating their teaching skills (the quality of audio and video won’t be judged). The videos will be professionally filmed and edited, with professional audio and we will film them in one of YMCA fitness studios.
