Acclaim Health and Community Care Services Board Member Opportunity The Acclaim Health and Community Support Services (Acclaim Health) mission is to provide the care and support you need to live well at home. Serving Halton since 2006. Acclaim Health provides: o In home nursing and personal support services o Nursing Care Clinics o Adult Day Programs o Overnight Respite o Caregiver Support and Education o Visiting Hospice and Bereavement and Social Isolation Supports Acclaim Health is currently seeking a community member to join our volunteer Board. The candidate represents the community of Oakville, Burlington, Milton or Halton Hills and offers the board their skills in a governance capacity. We are particularly looking for expertise in the areas of accounting (a recognized professional designation required), and human resources, with some pension and benefits knowledge. The candidate demonstrates a history of community involvement and a passion for community centered health care. Acclaim Health recruits Board members in a manner that supports diversity and inclusion. The primary responsibilities of an Acclaim Health Board member include: • Develop corporation’s mission and overall strategy and monitors progress • Oversees compliance • Manages and provides guidance to the Chief Executive Officer, who is responsible for operations • Monitor financial controls and results • Support the philanthropic activities of the corporation • Advocates on behalf of the corporation The board meets nine (9) times per year, primarily on Tuesday evenings and at the Annual Meeting. Meetings take place remotely or in person in Oakville. Each term for a board member is three (3) years. Additional information about Acclaim Health may be found at our website acclaimhealth.ca.
