Donation Pickup Assistant

Ride along with our Van Driver volunteer to help pick up large food donations from our partner and transport it back to Kerr Street Mission. 

 

Available shifts are weekly on Thursdays between 10am and 2pm.

 

Responsibilities:   

Ride along with another volunteer to assist with donation pick-ups and drop-offs. 
Help to load and unload food partner donations to and from van, putting items away in designated locations at KSM. 
Clear the truck out, taking out the skid and clean anything else that may have spilled 
Keep the KSM warehouse and work areas clean and organized according to warehouse processes. Take out recycling and other clutter as needed. 
Maintain a courteous and professional manner with staff and other volunteers
Requirements:    

Must be 18+
Ability to lift 40-50 pounds with ease 
Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
Good multi-tasking skills 
Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently 
Good problem-solving ability  
Attention to detail 
Organized and communicative 
Commitment:  Minimum 3-month commitment
