Warehouse Volunteer

Help our Food Services Team receive deliveries, stock our food market and manage our food inventory, leading to a positive shopping experience for the patrons of our food bank.

Suitable for volunteers 18+ who can lift up to 50lbs.

Available Shifts: 

Wednesdays 3:00 - 5:00pm on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities:

Help Stock the KSM Food Market by loading in fresh food products, bringing additional inventory from food storage locations
Help load and unload deliveries, putting items away in designated locations
Engage with food donors, greeting them warmly and thanking them on behalf of KSM.  
Follow processes to ensure donations are appropriately weighed and logged in our tracking system
Shuffle inventory in storage locations as needed to maintain a steady flow of produce following a first in, first out process.
Organize food in refrigeration units and ensure that the unit temperatures are maintained
Keep the KSM warehouse and work areas clean and organized according to warehouse processes and standards.
Dispose of recycling and clutter as needed. 
Maintain a courteous and professional manner with staff and other volunteers.
Occasionally accompany KSM staff to go offsite and help with pickups/loading/receiving. 
Requirements:

Must be 18+.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good multi-tasking skills.
Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently.
Good problem-solving ability.
Attention to detail.
Organized and communicative.
Commitment: One shift per week for a minimum of 6 months.
