Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services (SAVIS) of Halton is a non-profit organization providing free and confidential support to all survivors of sexual violence. We promote community education, advocate against violence, and are committed to anti-oppression, anti-racism, and feminist, trauma-informed care.
SAVIS’s mandate is to provide free, confidential, and non-judgmental 24-hour support to all survivors of violence including women, men, and members of the transgendered and gender-fluid community. We advocate against violence in the community and promote prevention through community education. SAVIS is a feminist organization whose mission is to build a world free from of violence and oppression.
Volunteer Board Member Opportunity:

In addition to participating in monthly Board and Committee meetings, Board Members are expected to support the organization at SAVIS hosted events, the Annual General Meeting, Take Back the Night, fundraising events and community awareness events.
SAVIS and its Board Members have a commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and we encourage people of diverse backgrounds to apply. We strongly encourage applications from Indigenous community members, Two-Spirited individuals, women, trans, and gender-diverse individuals, racialized people and individuals with disabilities. If contacted, please advise us if you require any accommodation.
