Volunteer Director for Human Resources Committee

2-10 hours / monthly
2-6 years of HR experience
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the community by supporting those experiencing grief and loss? Lighthouse, a dedicated Grief Training and Resource Centre, is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Human Resources Committee.  As a Board Member, you will play an important role in ensuring Lighthouse maximizes the effectiveness and engagement of current leaders of Lighthouse and identify potential leaders for the future. This is an opportunity to support a wonderful organization that offers free support for children and their families as each person navigates their unique journey through grief, loss, and change.

Preferred qualifications:
•	15 – 20 years of progressive experience with all aspects of talent management across the human resource functions including diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, performance management, compensations and benefits, training and development, employee relations, etc.
•	current knowledge of employment and privacy legislation  
•	demonstrated experience with change management, succession planning, workforce planning and organizational development, and coaching executive leadership
•	availability for monthly meetings and some projects as outlined in our annual strategic plan
•	experience advising not-for-profit or charity organizations would be an asset
Commitment:
•	Minimum of 2-year, maximum of 6-year commitment
•	Monthly online committee meetings from September to June with an additional 5 in-person board meetings.
