Seeking New Members for Board of Directors Lumara Grief & Bereavement Care Society supports life after loss by bringing light to grief and sorrow. We walk alongside children and families in unspeakable moments of trauma and loss—offering evidence-based bereavement care that nurtures healing and changes lives. We are a registered Canadian charity seeking individuals with a passion for our cause to join our Board. Bringing Light to Grief & Sorrow Right now, thousands of children and families are struggling through unspeakable moments of grief and loss. Overwhelmed after the tragic death of a loved one, they feel caught in a seemingly endless cycle of sorrow—with scarce support to navigate lasting trauma that, studies show, puts them at increased risk of depression, self harm, substance use disorder, isolation and more. Lumara responds to this crisis by bringing light to grief and sorrow. We support children and families through every step of their healing journey with evidence-based bereavement care they couldn’t otherwise afford nor find. Through expressive arts therapies, counseling, support groups, Indigenous Wellness, education and other innovative forms of therapy, Lumara builds communities of belonging, reignites hope, and supports a proactive approach to mental health for those who need it most, when they need it most. With a comprehensive spectrum of programs—including Canada’s very first bereavement retreat for grieving kids and families—Lumara supports life after loss, changing lives along the way.
