The German-Canadian Care Home is a 132-bed, licensed, publicly funded care home in South Vancouver. We care for seniors with complex physical and/or mental needs. Our Home has been providing compassionate care for over 50 years. We have adopted the Eden approach to care.

Our strengths include long-term, experienced staff, an in-house rehabilitation department, recreation, music therapy, art therapy and spiritual care program.

The Home has been accredited continuously since 1979 by Accreditation Canada and achieved the highest possible rating “Accredited with Exemplary Standing” in 2012 and 2016.

The German-Canadian Benevolent Society of BC operates and supports the home through volunteers, donations and fundraising activities to enrich the lives of the residents. The Society is currently fundraising towards a longer-term goal: the redevelopment of the entire care home.

Companion/Visitor
Volunteers are wanted to help support residents in our bingo program, which happens every Thursdays at 3:30pm

Volunteers will have opportunities to build relationships with elders in our community. Our residents are of different cultures and backgrounds with lots of memories, history and wisdom to share.
