AHS: Facility Visitor - East Central Alberta Facilities
1-2 hours
/ weekly
Prefer a commitment of 6 months - 1 year
Provide visits, companionship, and activities tailored to the patient/resident’s interests. Could also include providing mobility or wheelchair assistance to provide opportunity for the patient/resident to visit other areas of the facility or, weather permitted, facility grounds. Activities could include games, hobbies, reading, listening to music, puzzles, watching sports, etc. This could also include providing nutrition rounds for patients/residents and/or unit support (ie. equipment cleaning, stocking linens/supplies, and/or changing out linen hampers). Shifts available Mon – Sun morning, afternoon, and evening; typically, 1 – 2 hours each. Prefer a weekly commitment.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Ideal candidate enjoys working and supporting seniors, is comfortable in a healthcare setting, and is open to learning.
