Rodent Care and Cleaning

Ongoing
Want to help save one of Canada's most endangered species? We are actively recruiting motivated individuals to join our volunteer team!

The Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program (NSOBP) is a project managed by the British Columbia Conservation Foundation, a registered non-profit. The NSOBP in Langley, BC is home to over 30 northern spotted owls for which we provide care 365 days a year.
Our volunteer team provides much-needed support to staff and is crucial to our success. Rodent Care & Cleaning volunteers help maintain our rat and mice prey colonies to keep our owls fed with fresh, nutritious food. A volunteer orientation and all required training will be provided.

Have a friend who is also interested in volunteering? We are happy to accept pairs of volunteers who want to work together!

Please note:
Volunteers MUST be at least 16 years of age and be able to drive themselves to the site (no pick ups/drop offs, not accessible by public transportation). Please do not apply if you do not fulfill this requirement.

The NSOBP is a non-smoking work environment.

The NSOBP site is not wheel chair accessible.
