AGM is in May and strategic planning typically occurs for a half day or evening in the Spring. Low commitment - 1-2 hours per month and availability to meet with Executive Director to sign. Governance Style: The Board will approach its task in a collegial manner, providing strategic leadership rather than detailed administrative management. The Board seeks to address issues proactively rather than reactively, and support the Executive Director in the operation and development of the organization. Roles and Duties: The Board is in a position of trusteeship and is necessary for the proper governance and management. Consequently, the Board shall: act as the link between the organization and the community ensure adherence to written governing policies provide financial oversight to ensure that the organization meets its obligations with funders A Board member is fully informed on organizational matters and participates in the Board’s deliberations and decisions in matters of policy, finance and in the overall direction of kcs.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
A chance to serve on a Board of Directors and put your impact on a program helping children and adults in the community of Sylvan Lake. We are experts in supporting those with exceptional needs, giving them a great start (Early Intervention) and then seeing them through childhood and adulthood in our FSCD and PDD programs. Simply put, what we do matters and serving on the Board is a way to help our great work!
