Lean In Canada Vancouver Network is looking for a volunteer to lead the Partnerships and Sponsorships portfolio. The incumbent will drive relationship building and pave the way to secure support for Lean In Vancouver, increase network membership, and strengthen our presence in the Lower Mainland. The incumbent will lead the identification, cultivation, engagement and development of key partnerships and sponsorships for Lean In Vancouver. The incumbent will facilitate transparent and consistent communication with these external stakeholders and can articulate the organization's needs while aligning with partner objectives and priorities. This role is ideal for those with experience in lead generation, sales, and/or account management. Responsibilities ● Develop New Partnerships and Sponsorships: Identify and foster new partners and sponsors. Conduct strategic outreach to create partnerships with local businesses and corporations to sponsor venues, food or beverages, or other in-kind options that support Lean in Vancouver’s events and programs. ● Engage Prospective Partners and Sponsors: Represent Lean In Vancouver to engage potential partners and sponsors interested in collaborating with us, identifying mutually beneficial opportunities. ● Account Management: Maintain communication with external stakeholders to provide updates on activities and gather feedback for future collaboration. Offer insights on event outcomes and recommendations to enhance ongoing engagement with current partners. ● Activity Tracking: Assist in monitoring and reporting of partnership and sponsorship activities and outcomes. Maintaining the team strategy grid document by logging key interactions timely and planning future activities accordingly. ● Cross-Team Collaboration: Ensure Partnership and Sponsorship activities align with broader organizational goals and objectives. ● Reporting: Join the President and/or the Vice-President on bi-monthly check-in meetings over Zoom to discuss the key accounts in the portfolio; and, develop strategies for next steps. ● Public Relations: As this is an external-facing role, the incumbent will be responsible for upholding Lean In Vancouver's reputation. In situations where it is challenging to make a judgment call, we encourage consulting the President and/or Vice-Presidents on the team to assess potential risks. Desired Skills & Qualifications ● Self starter with a proven track record to independently manage various ongoing projects. Experience in using Gantt Charts is a bonus. ● Previous entrepreneurial experience or relevant self-initiated side projects is a strong asset. ● Strong written and verbal communication skills ● Skills in relationship building and management ● Sharp problem-solving and decision-making skills ● Strong organizational and project management skills ● Contextual intelligence - the ability to sift through assumptions, values, and vernacular to understand what’s at stake and articulate why it matters ● Being able to listen and incorporate feedback ● Team player Time Commitment ● 3-4 hours per week: Please note that our volunteer hours are project driven, so the hours may vary throughout the year. ● Monthly 60-min Vancouver team meeting over Zoom: It is required for the incumbent to attend at least three monthly meetings in the first six months. ● Semi-annual team strategy meetings: This is typically hosted in person in downtown Vancouver. Each meeting is over 3 hours. ● Network marquee events, approximately two to three receptions per year: Given the Partnerships and Sponsorships Lead’s significant engagement with various external stakeholders on behalf of Lean In Vancouver, we would encourage the incumbent to attend all marquee events if possible. ● Monthly coffee series event at Waves Coffee in downtown Vancouver, which will transition into Circles events in Spring 2025 and onward: We encourage the incumbent to attend these smaller-scale events if available. ● Team social, usually twice per year: This is optional but we encourage the incumbent to attend both if schedule allows. Under the Vancouver Network section, there is an online application tab embedded in the bottom of the associated role description. Please submit the application through the form accordingly.
