Social Media Coordinator

Lean In Canada Vancouver Network is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to support event promotion, create educational content, and more! The marketing team currently manages three social channels (Instagram and LinkedIn) and supports event logistics through email communications (MailChimp), link landing page (Linktree), and ticket management (Eventbrite).

A successful volunteer will ensure their deliverables are completed on time and communicate regularly with the team through asynchronous communications (Email, WhatsApp, etc.) and come prepared to collaborate during team strategy meetings.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who is eager to gain hands-on experience in social media management, digital marketing, and event promotion. We typically evaluate performance at least once per year and will discuss potential leadership opportunities within the portfolio to support the incumbent's growth within Lean In Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities

- Social Media Management: Manage and maintain engagement across the organization's social media channels, including Instagram and LinkedIn, by creating and curating content, responding to comments and messages, and fostering community interaction.

- Event Marketing Campaigns: Develop, implement, and monitor event marketing campaigns on social media platforms to promote upcoming events, drive attendance, and increase audience engagement.

- Website Management: Manage and update national website assets for the network, ensuring content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organizational goals and brand standards.

- Newsletter Content Creation: Provide engaging and informative content for both the network and national newsletters, including event highlights, member spotlights, and relevant industry news.

- Marketing Material Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to support the creation of various marketing materials, such as printables, event materials, and promotional graphics, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding across all channels.

- Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze the performance of social media campaigns and content using analytics tools, and generate reports to assess effectiveness, identify trends, and inform future strategies.

- Community Engagement: Actively engage with the online community, including members, partners, and followers, by initiating and participating in conversations, sharing relevant content, and fostering a positive and supportive online environment.

- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other members of the marketing team, as well as cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, to coordinate efforts, align messaging, and ensure cohesive marketing strategies.

- Content Planning and Scheduling: Develop content calendars and schedules for social media posts, newsletters, and other marketing materials, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of content to the target audience.

- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay informed about social media trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and proactively seek opportunities for professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in social media marketing.
 
Time Commitment

- 3 to 4 hours per week: For additional context, the commitment outlined below represents the maximum amount of volunteer work we anticipate. The actual hours required may vary depending on the project.

- Monthly marketing team meetings as required

- Monthly 60-min Vancouver team meeting over Zoom: It is required for the incumbent to attend at least three monthly meetings in the first six months.

- Semi-annual team strategy meetings following by a team building lunch or dinner: This is typically hosted in person in downtown Vancouver. The overall session is typically over 3 hours.

- Network marquee events, approximately two receptions per year in downtown Vancouver (optional) 

- Bi-monthly coffee series event in downtown Vancouver (optional)

- Team social, usually twice per year (optional).

- We would appreciate if the incumbent could volunteer with Lean In Vancouver for at least a one-year term.
