Meal Exchange coordinates the student movement to transform food on Canada’s campuses. Students get involved through our national programs supporting campus kitchens, gardens and farms, food banks, food sovereignty and food procurement. We provide mentorship and resources, connect students with their peers across the country, and provide a single point of contact for provincial and national stakeholders in business, civil society and media.

Our Values
Collaboration: Our decisions are made with input from everyone. We encourage youth to work with stakeholder groups from within the system to change the system.

Passion: We love what we do and do what we love. We seek to work with those who are passionate and to engage them in the work that we do.

Innovation: We thrive on using innovative ways to get youth involved in food issues, and on localizing every approach. We use new technologies to execute our work nationally and are always adapting how we do things.

Empowerment: Building youth leaders is at the heart of what we do. We provide unique volunteer opportunities and ensure that the skills that are developed are transferable.

Our Model
Engage: We help introduce youth to local food security issues, and connect them to like-minded people across Canada.

Educate: We support youth by facilitating peer-to-peer education through leadership development and empowering them to create innovative solutions.

Mobilize: Equipping passionate youth with the tools, connections and experiences to become the next generation of food leaders is what Meal Exchange does best.
