MS Walk Committee - General Coordinator

St. Paul, AB [map]
/ monthly
3 month term
The 2025 St. Paul Jayman BUILT MS Walk takes place Sunday, May 25th. MS Walk is a one-day event happening in over 50 in-person locations in Canada where people impacted by multiple sclerosis come together. Whether you live with MS or know someone who does, MS Walk is a place to forge meaningful connections and build lifelong relationships that bring us closer toward a world free of MS.

As part of the MS Walk Committee, you will plan and execute an inclusive, engaging event to connect and empower the MS community in your region. MS impacts all Canadians, which is why we urge people to move forward together at MS Walk and help build awareness for the disease, raising much needed funds to allow us to continue to support people affected by MS. This is a great opportunity to make an impact in your community using your talent and time.

The General Coordinator will work closely with the team at the MS Canada to support gaps in the event planning process. This role involves a wide range of tasks, making it essential to be flexible, organized and a team player.

Responsibilities

Support other committee members as needed
Must be available to attend the event providing overall event support and leadership to event day volunteers
Champion the Walk in your community by promoting the event and helping to recruit participants and day-of-event volunteers
Thinking about joining our MS Walk committee? Here’s what we are looking for:

Do you have a positive attitude and enjoy bringing positive energy to events?
Do you possess strong leadership, communication and organizational skills?
Are you passionate about supporting the MS community?
Do you have time in your schedule to join a virtual meeting once a month leading up to event day?
Can you attend the event in person on Sunday, May 25 for the whole event?
If you answered ‘yes’ to the above, we’d love to hear from you!

Why Volunteer?

“As a volunteer with MS Canada I’ve deepened my appreciation for advocacy, teamwork, and community involvement. These values have been integral throughout my academic journey and continue to significantly shape my professional development as a medical student.” -Amy
