Volunteer Grocery Delivery Driver

Ribbon Community is looking for volunteer drivers to deliver groceries from our Grocery Program to community members’ homes 2-3 times per month. 

Ribbon Grocery provides people living with HIV and their families a range of free produce, protein, pantry and hygiene items. We are open the first 2-3 weeks per month. 
Ribbon Grocery offers a mix of food items we purchase to distribute to our communities with input from our clients, and food items that are donated to us while they are still safe to consume but past their best before date. 

Volunteers contribute hundreds of hours each year to make this program possible. Other volunteer roles in this program include picking up food items, receiving deliveries, shelving and stocking items, bagging produce, welcoming clients to the space, and accompanying clients as they shop the space for free. We are now looking to expand our services to reach our community members who cannot come to Ribbon in-person to pick up their grocery bag.  

Shifts will take place on the Wednesday of designated grocery distribution weeks 2pm-4pm starting in May. We are able to cover the cost of mileage or Modo care share by reimbursement each month. The delivery volunteers will have: 
- A valid BC Driver's License  
- Access to an insured vehicle (personal) or Modo car share 
- Availability of 2-4 hours per week during weeks the Grocery program is open 
- Ability to carry grocery bags of up to 20Lbs/ 9.07 kg each 
-Commitment to Ribbon’s purpose and values including a strong practice of confidentiality  
-Able to commit for 3+ months
