Come have fun with us! Adult Day Program Volunteer (Mondays, 10:00 am - 2:30 pm)
Are you interested in making a difference in the community? Are you interested in interacting with seniors? Do you enjoy talking & laughing with seniors and other amazing people? ASK Friendship Society, an Adult Day Program in Vancouver (7405 Paulson Street), is looking for a wonderful in-centre volunteer to assist our staff and interact with our lovely seniors. If you are available on Mondays (10:00 am - 2:30 pm), we would love to have you as a volunteer starting September, 2024. You can come in for any duration of hours during 10:00 am – 2:30 pm, depending on what activities interest you. Our schedule at ASK centre is: 10:00 - 11:00 Morning coffee and tea social 11:00 - 11:45 Morning exercise (volunteers don't have to participate!) 11:45 - 12:15 Program #1: table games, card games, dominoes.. etc 12:15 - 1:15 Lunch (volunteers can take this time off, or bring lunch and eat with us) 1:30 - 2:30 Program #2: games like bingo, sitting with clients during musical performances, active games.. etc More about ASK Friendship Society: - ASK is a Registered Charity that provides Adult Day Programs (ADPs) in Vancouver to seniors who are isolated and/or coping with chronic medical challenges. We provide virtual and out-of-home activities, programs, and social engagement as well as basic medical care that enables seniors to continue to live in their own homes and that provides respite to their caregivers. - We have been in operation since 1976 and have a contractual partnership with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to provide ADP services in Vancouver. To meet growing demand, we have secured accommodation at two additional sites and are launching a major campaign to expand our footprint and services.
