ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Volunteer with us!

The CCBC Shop & Gallery is a social enterprise program we operate at our Granville Island location. We display and sell juried contemporary craft made by our members in mediums including ceramic, fibre, glass, metal and wood. We rely on a small group of staff and core volunteers to run our social enterprise, and are looking to welcome a new volunteer for a specific role. If you have a passion for craft, love engaging with people, and have been trying to find a way to support artists and contribute to BC's cultural economy then we would love to have you!

We are looking for one person to come in on Monday for three hours to assist with the maintenance of our online shop (www.craftcouncilbc.shop).

Your specific duties would include:
- A weekly check of the online shop for any issues or glitches, and out-of-stock items, removing those items from the shop.
- A full audit of items online to look for missing information (descriptions, measurements, tags, etc.) & updating that information in Shopify (our online shop platform) and in a Google Sheet. To be done over multiple volunteer shifts.
- Weighing & measuring new products in the physical shop to put in our online store.
- Assisting the online shop administrator where necessary when adding new items online.

Skills needed:
- Basic understanding of Google Sheets. No Shopify experience necessary as we will train you.
- Detail-oriented, able to notice issues & accurately record small bits of information.
- Good grammar & spelling, able to assist in writing short item descriptions.

NOTE: We accept volunteer applications on an ongoing basis however, due to the large volume of applications and a limited number of volunteer positions we will only contact those candidates who have been selected for an interview.
