About Eco Food Basket

Eco Food Basket is a growing digital platform marketplace. Our mission is to make sustainable, locally grown food accessible while empowering small farmers and producers through technology and storytelling.

We are currently building our Canadian organic farm directory and need volunteers who are detail-oriented, organized, and excited to contribute to a mission that supports food sustainability and community health.

About the Role

As a Data Entry / Research Assistant, you’ll play a key role in building the foundation of Eco Food Basket’s farm and producer database. You’ll gather, verify, and organize data about local farms, products, certifications, and delivery options, helping create the digital infrastructure that powers the platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for students, researchers, or volunteers interested in sustainability, agriculture, or data management who want hands-on experience in a real-world project.

Key Responsibilities

Research local farms, CSA programs, and organic producers across Canada (starting with BC).

Gather data such as contact information, certification details, website links, products, and delivery methods.

Verify and cross-check information from multiple sources (Organic BC Directory, Canada Organic Regime, etc.).

Enter, clean, and organize data in Google Sheets or an internal database.

Collaborate with the outreach team to ensure farm information is accurate and up to date.

Assist in maintaining consistency and structure across listings.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Comfortable working with Google Sheets, Excel, or similar tools.

Good research and analytical skills.

Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.

Interest in sustainability, local food systems, or community initiatives is an asset.

No prior experience required — training and guidance provided.
