The Environmental Youth Alliance (EYA) engages equity-deserving youth to connect with nature, grow new skills, and make new friends. Our programs empower youth to grow native plants and create gardens that help birds, bees, and other wildlife living alongside us in Vancouver’s urban neighborhoods.

The Peer Mentor program is a volunteer opportunity open to youth ages 18-25 who identify as BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and/or living with a disability. By volunteering, Peer Mentors will build leadership & facilitation skills through outdoor education and take part in hands-on habitat restoration work.

This program consists of two parts:

Skill-building workshops: Training weekend February 8 & 9, then a mix of online and in person weekly Tuesday evening (5:00pm - 7:30 pm) sessions starting Feb 25 (Feb 25, Mar 4, Mar 11, Mar 18, Mar 25, Apr 1, Apr 8, Apr 15, Apr 22, Apr 29, May 6)

Peer Mentoring: Weekly program support, 1 day/week from 10 AM - 3 PM (days vary according to the program you are supporting; learn more about the programs at https://eya.ca/program/nature-stewards/)
