Friends of the VPL

The Friends of the Vancouver Public Library is a community of library lovers who volunteer, fundraise, and advocate in support of the Vancouver Public Library. With the help of members, donors and volunteers we fund special programs and collections at VPL.
Friends operates book'mark, The Libary Store, book'markstore.ca, and annual Used Book Sales to raise funds for VPL. We also count on donations and memberships. To make all that happen we rely on year-round volunteer work in customer services, book sorting and pricing, communications and social media and fundraising.
In the past 26 years Friends of the VPL has funded dozens of programs including Writer in Residence, Ink Magazine, Writing and Book Camp, Digital and Literacy Materials for Children and Teens Services, Revitalization of spaces, equipment and Furniture purchases.
Our volunteers are passionate about how libraries form strong communities and work hard to help VPL become even better, more inclusive and relevant every day.
