Sanford Housing Society began its work in 1989, and since then we’ve developed 23 supported housing projects providing more than 500 units of housing with varied levels of support in the Lower Mainland.

We partner with other agencies who provide support services to those living in the housing. At Sanford Housing Society, we believe that if individuals with mental illness and/or addictions are given safe, secure, supported housing, they are more likely to recover and reach their potential.

Our funding to develop housing comes from a variety of partners, including federal, provincial and municipal governments.

Our role:

- Advocate for housing for people with a mental illness and/or an addiction
- Develop innovative, efficient, and cost-effective housing that is responsive to the ongoing needs of the individuals we serve
- Ensure the best design and quality of construction
- Manage our housing efficiently
