We're thrilled to announce some exciting Boccia events coming to Victoria this spring and summer, and we need your help to make them a success!

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support these fantastic opportunities:

Boccia Game Day - May 25th in Victoria 11-3pm
Boccia Provincials - June 21st & 22nd @UVic

This is a great opportunity to learn about adapted sport, meet some athletes and gain hands on experience. We have a wide range of roles and opportunities available. As the event dates get closer, we'll be in touch with more detailed training information.

Boccia the Paralympic version of Bocce. This game can be played individually, in pairs, or in teams of three. Boccia is a game of strategy and accuracy. Players score points by tossing or rolling their coloured ball closest to the target white ball called the jack. This game is typically played in a gymnasium or multi purpose area. It is very adaptable for people with a variety of disabilities. Equipment such as head pointers and ramps are available for those who may have difficulty rolling or throwing using their hands. The balls are made of leather material and can be soft or hard. Similarly, other objects such as beanbags or foam balls can be used in a recreational setting. This would help those who may have difficulty gripping the ball.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
You will gain hands on experience working with athletes with disabilities, get the opportunity to interact with partners in the non profit and sports community, and learn more about Boccia!
This is a perfect opportunity for individuals interested in health care, OT, PT. nursing, social services industries.
