Why This Opportunity is Awesome (and Why Kaleidoscope is Too):

At Kaleidoscope, we're not your average mental health nonprofit—we're a grassroots, peer-led movement building a future where mental health support is accessible, inclusive, and actually reflects the lived experiences of the people it’s meant to serve.

We’re reimagining mental health through community-led programs, mutual aid, and peer support training that actually pays people with lived experience for their wisdom and work. We’re also building a Recovery College-meets-Clubhouse model that blends education, creativity, and connection in ways that feel liberating—not clinical.

As our grant writer, you won’t be stuck behind red tape. You’ll be a vital part of a nimble, visionary team that's dreaming big and making real things happen. You’ll help us unlock the funding needed to grow programs, train peer supporters, publish white papers, and spark systemic change.

Whether you're a seasoned grant writer or someone looking to build experience in a values-driven space, this is a chance to work closely with passionate changemakers and help shape the future of peer-led mental health support in Canada.

We’ll support you with:
- Clear goals and timelines
- A collaborative, creative team
- Access to our existing grant templates and past applications
- Flexibility to work around your schedule

Your impact? Helping us access the resources needed to train peer supporters, support youth, challenge stigma, and build an entirely new kind of mental health system—one rooted in compassion, co-production, and community.

More about us (and why we're awesome): The Kaleidoscope Mental Health Support Society is a peer-led nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming mental health support by centering lived experience, mutual aid, and community-driven solutions. Our goal is to create inclusive, accessible, and empowering spaces for individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges.

We offer peer-led programs, training initiatives, and advocacy opportunities designed to amplify voices often marginalized within traditional mental health services. Through projects such as Recovery College courses, Clubhouse programs, peer-supported psychotherapy interventions, and stigma-reduction training for healthcare providers, Kaleidoscope champions innovation and co-production to foster recovery, hope, and empowerment.

Our vision is a world where mental health support is equitable, stigma-free, and co-created with those it serves. Volunteers joining Kaleidoscope contribute directly to building supportive communities, advocating for policy change, facilitating educational programs, and developing peer-led initiatives that truly make a difference.

While our website is currently being refreshed to better reflect our evolving initiatives, we're excited to connect with passionate individuals ready to join a vibrant, inclusive community focused on meaningful change.
