Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society
The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is one of the longest running festivals in the city. Founded in 1978 in Stanley Park, the second festival was presented at Jericho Beach Park a year later, with notable support from two City social planners, and has been held there in mid-July ever since. Situated on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, the festival is a unique community-based celebration, with an internationally-renowned reputation for presenting folk and roots music artists from around the world. Now in its 43rd year, the festival continues to be one of the city’s most beloved and enjoyed annual events, drawing over 40,000 enthusiastic attendees to beautiful Jericho Beach Park, eager to experience the music and culture of more than 60 acts.
