The Vancouver Visual Art Foundation is a non profit organization whose mission is to Unite the World through Art. Our vision at Vancouver Visual Art Foundation is to create a signature destination and premier events that brings global awareness to the visual arts in Vancouver. We cultivate a positive and supportive community by engaging artists and art lovers, elevating under-served voices, and expressing creativity across all events and programs. 

At VVAF, We are looking for highly skilled individuals who have experience and confidence to write articles related to art and also to coordinate the Article Writing team. You can find out blog at https://www.vanvaf.com/blog-main-page where we upload 1 blog post every week.

Position Overview:
As the Team Coordinator for the Article Writing Team, you will play a key role in managing content creation, editing, and publication. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a friendly and enthusiastic approach to coordinating team efforts.

Responsibilities:

Team Communication: Maintain open, friendly, and effective communication with all team members, ensuring everyone is aligned with content goals and deadlines.

Article Review & Editing: Review and edit articles for quality, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines before publication.

Content Management: Upload and manage articles on our website, ensuring all posts are correctly formatted and tagged.

Cross-Department Coordination: Work with other departments, such as Social Media, Marketing, and Newsletter teams, to align on content distribution and promotion strategies.

Team Support & Motivation: Inspire and guide team members with an enthusiastic attitude, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Work with a team, while being motivated to work alone & online. Stay focused, meet deadlines, communicate with team members.

Qualifications:
- Be proficient in English including grammar, spelling, wide vocabulary, punctuation
- Strong written communication and editing skills
- Proficiency in website content management systems (CMS) or willingness to learn
- Ability to coordinate with multiple team members and departments
- Have access to word processing software
- Become familiar with Google Suite (docs, sheets) and Slack
- Positive, enthusiastic, and approachable demeanor
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

All Article Writers at VVAF are a part of the Long-Term Volunteer team. As such, you will commit to a minimum 3 month term, writing one 500 word blog post per month. This will be a work-from-home placement.
