Role
As a member of the Communications team, the Podcast Editor Volunteer will offer their expertise in the podcast industry to Vantage Point staff/team to assist with professional video and/or audio podcast episodes to be shared on our platforms.
The Podcast Editor Volunteer will condense episode content, tie in conversational narratives cohesively, and enhance video and/or audio quality. All training and orientation to Vantage Point’s systems will be provided online by our Communications team. 

Your expertise and knowledge in audio and/or video editing will bring value to our episodes and help us produce quality content. This role will work from home and requires use of laptop, phone, and internet.

Responsibilities include:
•Editing episode video and/or audio files recorded using Adobe (or an approved program to be confirmed with Vantage Point).
•Review video and/or audio to cut or add relevant content.
•Collaborate with the Communications team to make changes and suggestions upon revisions
•Attend remote recordings and meetings
•Review final episode fully to ensure the video and/or audio is clean, clear and cohesive
•Ensure the episode represents Vantage Point accurately
•Returning edited files to Vantage Point for review

Skills & Characteristics
•Experience in the use of podcast editing software
•Experience editing audio content
•Clear communication skills – verbal and written
•Prioritizing Vantage Point’s branding, mission and vision
•Timely responses to communications from the Communications team.
•Dedication to continual learning and openness to receiving constructive feedback

Time Commitment
This role will be for an ongoing period, ideally a minimum of six (6) months, and can start as soon as possible. The hours of work are flexible and remote, to be completed before a defined deadline.

Our podcast episodes air approximately once every six weeks, and we anticipate will require 6-7 hours of editing per episode. Episodes are typically 30-60 minutes.
We are ideally looking for someone that can commit longer term with flexibility.
Final commitment will be agreed upon with the Operations and Communications Manager, Rachelle Smalldon.

Accountability
The Podcast Editor Volunteers will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Dillon Dhak, and report to Operations and Communications Manager, Rachelle Smalldon, rsmalldon@thevantagepoint.ca
