Friday Khateeb (Sermon Speech Giver) - Queensland
The Islamic Centre of Calgary (ICSC) is currently seeking a dedicated individual to volunteer as a Khateeb for our Friday Jumaah prayers. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve your community and contribute to the spiritual growth of our congregation. Responsibilities: - Prepare and deliver the Khutbah (sermon) prior to the Friday Jumaah prayer. - Engage with the community and provide spiritual guidance. - Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all attendees. Locations and Times: - Mckenzie Towne Hall: 1 PM and 1:45 PM - Queensland: 1:45 PM Qualifications: - Knowledge of Islamic teachings and principles. - Excellent public speaking skills. - Ability to prepare and deliver engaging and meaningful sermons. - Must be available for Friday prayers. Training: Don’t worry if you’ve never done this before or need some help getting started. Training will be provided to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your role as a Khateeb.
