Volunteering as a Punjabi tutor with LearnPunjabiCa offers a special chance to truly make a difference in children's lives. By teaching them their mother tongue, you empower kids and their families to connect with their heritage. As a tutor, you get to nurture students of all ages and abilities as they discover the beauty of the Punjabi language. In this role, you would be responsible for: - Creating fun, interactive lesson plans tailored to each child - Monitoring students' progress and providing feedback to support their growth - Communicating with parents and staff about how students are doing and addressing any concerns - Participating in ongoing training to enhance your teaching abilities To thrive as a tutor, you’ll need: - A strong grasp of Punjabi language, culture and grammar - Experience teaching or tutoring kids, ideally in language instruction - Great communication and people skills - Patience and an affinity for working with children - Strong planning and organizational abilities - Flexibility to adapt to different age groups and skill levels - A real passion for keeping endangered languages alive By volunteering, you’ll join a team united by this passion. You’ll have the chance to inspire young minds while improving your own Punjabi proficiency. We ask volunteers to commit 2 hours per week for 6 months minimum.
