Donations Attendant and Laundromat

Are you super organized? Do you love turning disorganization into organization?  Do you love the smell of clean laundry? And meeting new people? 

The Laundromat and Donations Attendant works with a wide variety of people, including Under One Roof residents and the public, to support the safe operation of the laundry room and to accept and organize donations from the community.  

The Laundromat and Donations Attendant position provides a good opportunity to meet and support a wide variety of people. The ideal person for this role will be friendly and outgoing with excellent customer service skills and will also be capable of operating commercial-level laundry equipment. 

The morning shift helps our front line staff by helping to move our emergency shelter bedding through the wash, so that beds can be reset. Therefore, staff have more time to help our participants in the morning with other daily needs. The afternoon shift helps with incoming donation organization and cleaning. 

Key Tasks:
Greet participants in the laundromat and help people feel safe and welcome
Instruct users on proper operation of washers and dryers
Perform light cleaning and maintenance of machines
Help move emergency shelter bedding through washer and dryer
Help to distribute coins
Greet community members dropping off donations of clothing, blankets, hygiene supplies.
Sorting donations and keeping donation shelves clean, organized and tidy
Laundering donations as required

2-hour shifts are available daily between:
9:30am–12:00pm
or 4:00pm–8:00pm
Timing is flexible
One shift a week would be ideal.
