Meals on Wheels Delivery Volunteer

Under One Roof, 37871 Third Avenue, Squamish, BC, V8B 1B8 [map]
2-3 hours / weekly
Minimum six months
The Meals on Wheels program delivers affordable, nutritious and delicious meals to members of the community who are homebound and unable to prepare their own food. Meals on Wheels helps people continue living independently while maintaining a healthy diet.

As a volunteer driver, you will be picking up meals at Under One Roof (UOR) and delivering them to several clients on a pre-determined route. On top of delivering a meal, you’re also providing a friendly greeting and will check in with the clients. The role involves being on your feet, carrying a bag with multiple meals, going up/down stairs, may be in contact with pets; and requires a car, a mobile phone to communicate with clients/coordinator and for navigation. You’ll collect reusable trays from the previous meal day and bring them back to UOR along with the insulated food delivery bags.

This position requires a commitment of approximately 1.5-2 hours per shift (Monday and Thursday afternoons). This may vary slightly depending on operational needs.

Shifts are available Monday and/or Thursday afternoons starting around 2:00pm.
