Volunteer Assistant to the Executive Director International MPS Network The International MPS Network (IMPSN) is seeking a dedicated and organized volunteer to serve as an Assistant to the Executive Director. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in making a meaningful impact in the rare disease community while gaining valuable experience in non-profit management. This position has the potential to evolve into a paid role. About IMPSN: The International MPS Network is a global organization focused on advocacy, education, and support for individuals and families affected by Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) and related lysosomal storage disorders. We collaborate with international partners to raise awareness, improve treatments, and advance research for these rare diseases. Key Responsibilities: Scheduling Meetings: Organize and coordinate meetings for the Executive Director, including liaising with board members, Network members, physicians, pharmaceutical companies, and other key stakeholders. Note Taking & Reporting: Attend meetings and prepare accurate minutes and reports for distribution. Travel Arrangements: Assist in organizing travel logistics, including flights, accommodations, and itineraries for the Executive Director’s domestic and international trips. File Management: Maintain and organize digital and physical files, ensuring proper documentation of key organizational records and correspondence. General Administrative Support: Provide ongoing administrative assistance as needed, including drafting emails, organizing calendars, and supporting day-to-day operations. Requirements: Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Italian or other languages is highly desired. Previous administrative or secretarial experience is desired. Passion for non-profit work, particularly in the rare disease or health advocacy space.
