Board Director

OVERVIEW:
We are seeking passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. Your expertise, experience, and dedication will be essential in supporting our mission. As a Board Director, you will help shape the strategic direction of the organization, ensure effective governance, and advance our goal of reducing isolation and loneliness through interactive drum circle events that engage people of all ages and abilities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Strategic Direction: Guide the organization’s long-term vision and strategic planning to ensure alignment with its mission and goals. Offer insights and recommendations to help shape the organization’s direction and priorities.

- Active Participation: Attend and actively engage in board meetings, committee meetings, and special events. Prepare for meetings by reviewing materials in advance and contribute to discussions and decision-making.

- Advocacy and Fundraising: Represent the organization within the community to build support and awareness. Participate in and support fundraising activities to help secure financial resources for the organization.

- Policy and Budget Approval: Review, approve, and oversee the implementation of organizational policies, budgets, and strategic plans. Ensure that these documents support the organization’s goals and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow board members, staff, and volunteers to achieve the organization’s objectives. Foster a cooperative environment and share expertise to enhance organizational effectiveness.

- Ambassadorship: Act as a representative of the organization, promoting its mission and values to external audiences. Enhance the organization’s public image and build positive relationships with stakeholders.


REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Commitment to the mission and vision of Rhythm of Life Society.
- Previous experience serving on nonprofit boards or relevant leadership experience preferred.
- Expertise in areas such as finance, law, marketing, fundraising, or program development is desirable.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to dedicate time and energy to actively participate in board activities and support the organization's initiatives.
- A diverse range of perspectives and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
